An import permit needs to be transacted before the competent authorities of each member country of the EU in case of organic products certified by CERTIMEX for the export to the EU. The importer can, with help from CERTIMEX, carry out these transactions.

The supplier applies to CERTIMEX to issue a Control Certificate. He fills in and sends the application form for a Control, and annexes a copy of the sales invoice and the bill of lading to CERTIMEX. If the product is for the Mexican market, the sales invoice, a shipment note of the warehouse, the health certificate or a sales notice needs to be annexed.

The personnel of CERTIMEX will verify if the applicant supplier is properly certified. They will also verify if the volume of the product that the applied control certificate covers, is in accordance with the total volume certified and the considered volumes in the control certificates issued previously.

The control certificate is drawn up and sent to the supplier or to the buyer according to what is indicated by the supplier.

The transaction of the import permits of organic products to the EU and the issuing of each control certificate has a cost which must be paid by the supplier according to rates in force.
