The producers need to take the following obligations into account once they have CERTIMEX certification:

• To accept and fulfill obligations required by CERTIMEX according to the signed contract for certification of the production, processing and/or marketing units.
  
• To apply and fulfill the corresponding technical standards (standards of CERTIMEX for the production of ecological products, the general standards of the Comercio Justo Mexico, the standards of Bird Friendly Coffee of the SMBC, etc.) in the production units, processing and/or marketing.
  
• To accept and to fulfill the control and certification procedures of CERTIMEX and to inform CERTIMEX about all eventual changes which take place in the production unit related to the product or process certified by CERTIMEX.
  
• To inform CERTIMEX about all changes which take place in legal representation, ownership and changes of address.
  
• To fulfill the conditions and time periods specified in announcements and letters received from the CERTIMEX office.
  
• To give free access to inspectors or any CERTIMEX accredited entity in order to carry out regular verifications, specific evaluations and announced or unannounced inspections.
  
• To inform CERTIMEX about any and all complaints received from clients with respect to the organic quality and/or fair market of the product.
  
• The CERTIMEX seal or other references of the CERTIMEX certification can not be used in an inappropriate or unauthorized manner.
  
  

The producers have the following rights:

• To demand information and/or notification documents of requirements, conditions and/or sanctions sent out by CERTIMEX.
  
• To object to the assigned inspector because of conflict of interests with the company or activity that is the object of verification.
  
• To appeal and / or complain against any violation of confidential information of the member or procedures in their production processes.
  
• To appeal and / or claim against the control and/or certification process in which the production and/or production unit was subjected to incompetence.
  
• To receive in a timely fashion information of CERTIMEX about changes in standards and certain procedures as well as time periods in which these changes enter in force.
